Sun 10/05/2008, Game 1, League Championship Series
The Cubs took game one of the League Championship Series versus the Orioles with a 9 inning 2-0 win. Tom Barnes shut down the potent Orioles attack with a three hitter for 8 and one third innings to get the win. PJ O'Toole closed the door with two thirds of an inning of work to pick up the save. The Cubs had just 2 hits all game and they both came in the 4th inning to bring home the first run of the game. Brad Adams led off with a single and John Gordon had a huge 2 out single to drive in the runner from third. The Cubs scored in the bottom of the 8th on a John Gordon walk, steal and wild pitch to get to third and the PJ O'Toole reached on a two out error by the third baseman which scored John.
