Tom Barnes had one of his best starts in years to shuit down the potent Dodgers attack in this game. Tom went the distance allowing 1 earned run, 8 hits while collecting 11 strikeouts. Tom was in control of this game from the very start and had several easy innings.

PJ O'Toole made his Cubs debut and had a solid game in center and at the plate.

This was a tight game that the Cubs opened up with 3 runs in the 6th to take a 7-2 lead.

At the plate, the first three Cubs in the order scored 5 of the Cubs 7 runs. Alex Scott was 3-4 with an ROE, 3 stolen bases and 2 runs scored. Eddie Murray was 2-3 with a walk and a run scored. Paul Sonnett had 2 ROEs and scored 2 runs. Dennis Fontecchio and Tom Barnes also went 2-3 in this one. The Cubs had 3 sac flies hit by Ken Hamm, Earl Carpenter and Rich Wenning.
