Box Score

In game 2, the game was called off after 5 innings in a driving rain storm with the score tied at 0. Tom Barnes, coming off a bout with pneumonia, shut the Orioles down. He got out of a huge threat in the 4th, the bases were full with one out and Tom got a soft liner to Earl at short who tagged the runner coming off second for a double play, the third of the day for the Cubs. Tom gave up 2 hits and induced 8 ground ball outs. Unfortunately, the Cubs have developed a pattern of not generating any offense in the second game of a double header. For the second consecutive second game of a DH, the Cubs were held to one hit and zero runs. Eddie Murray had the only hit, a first inning single to left.
