The Cubs won the first game of a double header against the Mariners 4-3.

This game was real battle. The Cubs never led until the bottom of the 6th when they scored 2 runs on a double by Chris Ricker to drive in Andy Luckhardt pinch running for Brad Adams and a single by Mark Grogan which drove in Chris Greig.

Andy Schultz went the distance and gave up 2 runs in the first but was in control the rest of the way. Andy didn't have a 1-2-3 inning the whole day, but made clutch pitches when he needed to. The biggest jam Andy got out of was the top of the 6th. The Mariners were already leading 3-2 and had runners at second and third with no outs (a walk and an error). Andy closed out that huge inning with a K, P3 and a K!
