The Cubs beat the Brewers 14-6 to earn solo possession of first place in the National League on 7/24. The game was close for 5 innings and then the Cubs exploded to put it out of reach. Another great emergency start from Brad Adams who went 8 and a third to allow the Cubs bats time to come to life.
