Box Score

Andy Schultz went the first five allowing just 3 runs. Andy really scrambled well in this one and threw the key pitches when he needed to. Andy Luckhardt finished the game and took the tough loss. Only one ball was hit hard against him, but it drove in two runs in the bottom of the 7th. Andy also made a great play to end the 8th with a bases loaded forcing out the runner at home from his knees in foul territory off the 3rd base line. He also picked a runner off first in the 6th.

Paul Sonnett had a great day defensively, tagging out a runner on a 2-4-2 play and also gunning out a potential base stealer on a wild pitch. Eddie Murray made several fine catches in right considering the wind and sun conditions at the field.

Offensively, the Cubs battled all day but had a hard time getting the clutch RBI hits. The Cubs left runners on first and second in the 4th, 5th and 7th and left the bases full in the 2nd and 8th. Glenn Legault was 2-2 with a double and 2 walks and 2 runs scored. Eddie Murray was 3-4 with an RBI. Tom Barnes was 2-3 with a walk and 2 RBIs both coming on the one clutch hit the Cubs had, a two out single to give the Cubs a 4-3 lead in the 6th. Andy Luckhardt was 2-4 and Brad Adams drew 3 walks!
