The Cubs beat the Orioles 2-1 in game 2 of the LCS forcing a 9 inning game 3 on 9/28. This is the
first time in the history of the league that the LCS has gone to a decisive third game. Earl
Carpenter pitched a great game allowing just 5 hits and no earned runs. Earl struck out 9. The Cubs
scored all their runs in the third inning with the first 3 batters. Andy Luckhardt and Tim Shaver
hit back to back triples and then Will Lessard singled home Tim with what turned out to be the game
winning run. Andy Schultz went 2-2 at the plate in game 2. Rich Schwarz made a big catch in left center
to end the 5th inning with the tying run on third base.
