The Cubs lost 4-2 in game one of the LCS when the Orioles scored 3 runs in the bottom of the sixth to
erase a 2-1 deficit. Tom Barnes had held the Orioles to 1 run through 5 innings but left with a runner
on first and a run already home in the sixth. The next four Orioles batters reached to put the game away.
The Cubs scored a run in the 4th and another in the fifth to take a 2-1 lead. Eddie Murray (fighting off
a nasty flu) lead off with a walk in the 4th. Pinch runner Andy Luckhardt went to second on a Glenn
Legault single. Dennis Fontecchio laid down a perfect sac bunt to move the runners up a base. Paul
Sonnett singled home Andy. Andy Luckhardt singled to lead off the 5th and stole 2nd. Tim Shaver
followed with a single to move Andy to 3rd. When Tim stole second base, the throw went into centerfield
allowing Andy to score from third. The Cubs turned 2, 1-2-3 double plays in game 1, Brad Adams making
a great play at first base on the first one!
